The dark side of 'underdeveloped patriarchal society'
What is the dark side of 'underdeveloped patriarchal society underpinned by primitive religious tradition' all over the world ;
Men imprison their women/daughters in the family home, don't allow them to develop, to study, to become independent financially and professionally,to inherit possessions or property, to have money for themselves, to have a personal emotional or sexual life.
Men enforce them to conceal their body and their face, so no swimming, contact with nature, sports, or proper recreation outside.
Men force them to marry without choice, to have often unprotected sex at the man's wish, even knowing that they run extremely high risk to get AIDS (Black-Africa).
Men buy and sell women, force them into prostitution, kidnap them using them as 'child soldiers' or marry them at child age treating them as 'property' or 'house-slaves' (Africa-Asia).
The patriarchal family 'honour and shame' idea allows men on a large scale to kidnap, imprison, maltreat, petrol burn alive (India), kill and mutilate their own women/daughters as their chosen fate by their behaviour or by marital consequences and this without punishment (Middle East, Pakistan, India)
Men 'offended' in their trumped up masculinity blind and mutilate women by throwing acid into the face of 'unfaithful' or sexually 'unwilling' women (Bangladesh).
Male society forces widows to live on the streets as beggars without any right of family care, support or access to the dead husband's family home (India lower casts).
Healers and religious buffoons (always older men !) design 'passage' rituals and religious ceremonies just to be able to rape, violate young girls (virgins) with consent of illiterate parents (India ).
A weird masculine belief in Southern Africa triggered in recent time a wave of gang-rapes where men with AIDS copulate with virgin girls or even baby girls taken from their neighbourhood because it would cure their AIDS-infection...
Men and older victimised women ritually circumcise the younger women (removal or puncturing of the clitoris) in North- Africa,
and to the extreme,... commit infibulations stage III or pharaonic circumcision on young girls which you don't want to be having described in detail (Somalia, Ethiopia).
Therefore the brave struggle for women of Dutch MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
(ex-Somalian victim of this kind of practices)
