Why the pseudonym 'The boiling frog'

The boiling frog :
If you put a frog in boiling water he will jump out of it immediately to save his skin, but if you put him in water, warm it gently to boiling point, he will feel increasingly comfortable, complacent, with temperature going up, he will remain motionless and will sink into a trance and slowly will cook to death 'with a smile on his face'.

The ideal metaphor for the human species of which I am part of,
boiling slowly to ecological death not moving in exaltation of its physical convenience, as master, manipulator and destroyer of his own biosphere.
